Legacy news outlets in Kentucky and across the nation have been critical of cuts to the federal government-first with the DOGE, now with the budget reconciliation bill. But rarely do these stories explore the rationale behind the spending eductions. The upcoming fiscal cliff is left unmentioned, as is the ever-ballooning size of government and the waste within it. When these factors are considered, cuts are the only logical option. And as you look around, there are plenty of places to begin. For example, the government should not fund the lifestyle of able-bodied adults who refuse to work. But instead of honest analysis, legacy news outlets stick to emotional narratives that protect bureaucracy and ignore the long-term dangers of uncontrolled federal spending.
