Kentucky’s last abortion clinic was recently reduced to rubble after nearly forty years in operation. EMW Women’s Surgical Center, located in downtown Louisville, was the site of daily protests and prayer vigils by pro-life activists. But they haven’t  taken place since Kentucky’s trigger law shut down all abortion clinics in the state following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022. Some celebrated EMW’s demolition as a great victory for life. Others see the closure and demolition of EMW as an attack on women’s rights. But the U.S. and Kentucky Constitutions guarantee certain rights for all people—including the right of life for those still inside the womb. Even though Kentucky’s last abortion center has been torn down, with chemical abortion, the fight for life is far from over.
