Kentucky Auditor Allison Ball recently testified before Congress. She told the House Oversight Committee that our state executive branch is a “target-rich environment” for waste, fraud, and abuse. In just two years Ball and her staff uncovered over 1billion in mismanaged funds including $836 million in duplicate Medicaid payments. She found that  dead people remained on Kentucky Medicaid; multiple people used the same social security number to obtain Medicaid; and ineligible noncitizens received Medicaid benefits; Ball said this shouldn’t be partisan. She said “If we take waste, fraud, and abuse seriously, we can ensure that every family gets needed assistance without breaking the backs of American taxpayers”.  Ball is digging in deeper to fight the fraud by launching “special examinations” and utilizing Artificial Intelligence in her analysis.
