Tractor Supply is dropping its DEI efforts. Most people had no idea the farm retailer was involved with this. Many more question how DEI helps a company become better at all. DEI politicizes the work place, is divisive, and focuses on criteria inconsistent with good service and good value. Tractor Supply has a rural customer based that is largely conservative. It was clear that this effort was incompatible with Tractor Supply’s mission from the beginning. And after pushback from conservatives, Tractor Supply is learning the same lesson that Bud Light and Target did last year. Customers don’t want far-left activism pushed on them. They don’t want their products politicized. They simply desire quality products and good service.
