The pandemic lockdown led to many new habits as we were forced to stay inside our homes. One of these habits was increased screentime for kids. One study found that before the pandemic children were spending an average of 4 hours a day on smartphones, tablets, and watching TV. But now, adolescents are spending almost eight hours a day on their devices, not including time for their school work! This has led to an increase in mental health and physical health problems. One doctor pointed out that screen time leads to less physical activity and an increase in eating when not hungry. As parents, we should ensure our children are healthy. And to do that, we should encourage more outside time and less screen time.
