The Southern Baptist Convention is being investigated by the FBI because of a probe that alleged the Executive Committee covered up numerous sexual abuse cases. While all sexual abuse must be taken seriously, many are wondering if it’s appropriate for the FBI to be involved. The SBC executive committee isn’t complaining though. They said in a statement, “Individually and collectively each SBC entity is resolved to fully and completely cooperate with the investigation. While we continue to grieve and lament past mistakes related to sexual abuse, current leaders across the SBC have demonstrated a firm conviction to address those issues of the past and are implementing measures to ensure they are never repeated in the future.”
