Muslim Activist Linda Sarsour Tweeted “Justice has NOT been served…Rise UP. All across this country. Everywhere. Rise up for #BreonnaTaylor.” Sarsour’s Tweet was in response to the Grand Jury finding that the police acted in self-defense when fired upon by Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend. But this is far from the American way to respond to judicial findings one disagrees with. And in this case, Sarsour’s rhetoric led to violence in Louisville where two police officers were shot and around over a hundred arrested for disorderly conduct and violent acts. Sarsour’s group is called “Until Freedom,” but she would do well to understand that true lovers of freedom reject mob tactics that promote anarchy and violence.
