The Kentucky General Assembly passed a pro-life measure empowering the Attorney General to pursue criminal charges for abortionists who break the law. This is because Gov. Beshear has demonstrated that he will not enforce state abortion law. Attorney General Daniel Cameron said, “Abortion providers should not receive special treatment, and this bill will ensure we can take the necessary actions to hold them accountable if the law is broken.” This bill also defines abortion as an elective procedure, treating it like any other elective procedure during a state of emergency. The General Assembly has stood for life and prioritized pro-life legislation in this new session. The governor’s expected veto, not only will tell us what he thinks about the unborn but also what he thinks about enforcing the law.
