Pres. Joe Biden recently gave a speech at Independence hall where he demonized those he calls MAGA Republicans. He said, “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards, backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love. They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fanned the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.” Good leaders don’t label voting blocks and call them a threat to the nation. That’s what dictators do. Some say that Biden is taking a page out of Trump’s playbook, but if it was wrong for Trump, it’s also wrong for Biden. If Biden achieved anything by this speech it was to further divide the nation and fan the flames of division—something contrary to good leadership.
