Republicans won a major upset in the Virginia governor’s race last week. Democratic favorite Terry McAullife lost to GOP newcomer Glen Youngkin. McAullife previously served as governor and had all kinds of help from Pres. Biden and former Pres. Obama. A pivotal moment in the campaign was when McAullife quipped, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” This was in light of a transgender male assaulting a girl in a Virginia public school bathroom, hardcore porn found on the library shelves in Fairfax, and Critical Race Theory being taught in several schools while schools were erasing namesakes of founding father’s Thomas Jefferson and James Madison–both Virginians. Parents vote, and they sided with Youngkin because he understood that parents should have the primary say in their children’s education.
