America has found a new passion for gambling. According to one survey, over 50% of adults gambled last year, and they spent about $150 billion. The downside is that gambling corrupts both the gambler and the things they’re betting on. Sports betting has exploded in recent years, and now professional athletes are being banned because of it. One of the problems with modern gambling is that it’s much easier to get addicted with the ease of your smartphone and you no longer have to go to a casino. Gambling is also dangerous because it takes money from the most vulnerable and lines the pockets of Big Betting Platforms. The largest sports gambling platform, DraftKings, brought in nearly $5 billion in wagers last year.
