A nationwide survey of election officials found that three-quarters said harassment and violent threats have increased since the 2020 presidential race. The threats are from people believing the election system is corrupt. The Committee for Safe and Secure Elections is a new organization dedicated to help prepare election workers face these challenges in 2024. The health of our political system requires free, fair, and accurate elections. But it also requires citizens with good character who resist threats and violence. Concerns about election integrity are important, but they should be made through appropriate channels of recourse. True patriots are dedicated to the rule of law, and hence they realize that threats and violence are no way to settle political or legal differences.
