According to a story by WTTW out of Chicago, “Democrats are pumping an unprecedented amount of money into advertising related to abortion rights.” So far, Democrats spent $124 million in television ads where abortion is mentioned, making abortion a top priority this election season. The second most talked about issue is “character.” The irony is startling. For starters, abortion is controversial and painful for women considering it. Abortion ultimately reduces the number of citizens that our political leaders are charged with protecting. It’s ironic that Democrats make abortion a priority. While “character” is  Democrat’s second most important theme this election cycle, making abortion their first priority undermines that.
