(Frankfort, KY) – The Commonwealth Policy Center applauds the Kentucky House of Representatives’ decisive vote in favor of House Bill 1, lowering the state income tax to 3.5%.

The benchmarks set by the Republican-led legislature are a common sense measure which both funds important government services and puts more money back in the hands of Kentuckians.

The bipartisan vote indicates the popular nature of tax relief for Kentucky families. HB 1 passed the House yesterday by a vote of 90-7. The Kentucky Senate will take up and is expected to pass the bill during Part II of the legislative session, which begins on February 4.
