Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. It’s a big day of anticipation of our most celebrated holiday—especially for children who can’t wait to rip into all of their presents. Have you ever wondered why it is we give gifts at Christmas? It’s symbolic of God’s generosity and his giving to us. You see, God is a giver. He gives good gifts to all mankind, and His greatest gift is Jesus Christ, who came to reconcile a sinful man with a merciful and holy God. It was on the night of Jesus’ birth that the angels declared, “Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, goodwill to men.” The peace God gives is more than a lack of war or strife. It is being forgiven of sin and walking with God as He intended. May God bless you and your family with a Merry Christmas!
