The Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting released more details of a deposition alleging sexual harassment by former State House Speaker Jeff Hoover. A former House staffer testified to troubling details in her deposition. If they prove true, Hoover needs to resign. This saga leaves another stain on Frankfort— a place of power that is no stranger to scandal. Back in the 1990's former LRC director Kent Downey was fired for promoting prostitution and hiring strippers on the state payroll. In 2014 a Democratic legislator resigned over sexual harassment. Now we have this latest chapter. This unseemly and immoral behavior shouldn't be tolerated in civil society and especially from those who are supposed to lead us. Perhaps politicians get lost in the illusion of power and forget that moral boundaries apply to everyone of us.
