Our nation is losing respect for the sanctity of human life. Consider recent headlines. A young Ukrainian refugee was brutally murdered on a transit in Charlotte North Carolina. There were school shootings in Colorado and Minnesota. And influential political activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated. What was both revealing and appalling is that some have celebrated Kirk’s death? The only way that happens is when you’ve reduced a fellow human being to less than a person unworthy of life. Christianity teaches that every human life is made in God’s image and worthy of protection under our laws. And there is no qualifier. It’s doesn’t matter your political views or religious affiliation. This means we must see people as incredibly valuable in God’s eyes and treat them accordingly.
