A professor at the University of Kentucky is mired in controversy for her upcoming book called From the Clinics to the Capitol: How Opposing Abortion Became Insurrectionary. In it Dr. Carol Mason ties the pro-life movement to “white nationalism and authoritarian populism”—creating outrage among pro-lifers on both sides of the political aisle. Mason is a professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at UK and calls pro-life arguments insincere. Mason argues that white nationalism is instead at the root of the anti-abortion movement—not a love and concern for the unborn. But the facts say otherwise. Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the nation, was actually founded on white supremacy and eugenics—a fact that Mason’s thesis conveniently ignores.
