Does the President have a right to fire federal workers? The Supreme Court just ruled that he does. The Court says that Trump administration can move forward with plans to fire tens of thousands of workers across the federal government. A judge in California attempted to block the layoffs, but the justices granted an emergency appeal from the Trump administration to move forward with the firings. Many are outraged at this use of presidential power and the countless jobs it does away with. But these individuals ignore the vast waste and inefficiency in government. These 3 million public servants exist to do exactly that—serve the public. And when they no longer do so, they forfeit their privilege of employment.
