Last week Governor Andy Beshear joined a coalition of states in suing the Trump administration for withholding billions in educational funding. Though the 25 attorney generals leading the suit are all Democrats, Beshear says this suit is not partisan. Rather, he says it’s about Kentucky children and their educational future. Trump froze this funding to get the federal government out of public education—something that happened under the Carter administration. Since the federal government’s gotten involved, kids have been less educated and fed far left ideology. If Beshear really believes education should be free of partisan politics, he should take the lead to restore state control and insist that teachers teach the basics instead of leftwing activism.
