The U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling that said states should not be forced to do business with Planned Parenthood, the largest single abortion provider in the country. In the past, Planned Parenthood was reimbursed by Medicaid for various health services. But the organization is involved with gender transitions and abortion, offensive to conservative states like South Carolina. The ruling means that states can redirect Medicaid funding away from the controversial group and steer it to health care centers who offer health care needs, minus the controversy. ADF attorney John Bursch said “States should be free to fund real, comprehensive care and exclude organizations like Planned Parenthood that profit off abortion and distribute dangerous gender-transition drugs to minors.” The case is called Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic.
