Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that banning abortion would be “very damaging” to the U.S. economy. Yellen told the Senate Banking Committee, “I believe that eliminating the right of women to make decisions about when and whether to have children would have very damaging effects on the economy and would set women back decades.” Her voice is important, as many listen to economic advice. But is advice that elevates the economy and at the expense of the unborn, sound advice? We’re often told that children are our greatest asset, and our future. So how can any economy remain strong so long as an unborn child is considered an option and something subservient to an economy?
