President Biden and other self-proclaimed Catholic Democrats may be excluded from partaking in Communion in the future. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops recently voted to draft a statement that would bar those who oppose Church teaching from receiving communion. Abortion is the primary issue, as many Catholic Democrats support abortion policies that blatantly oppose the teaching of the Catholic Church. In response, 60 Catholic Democratic politicians have written a letter in opposition. They say this move weaponizes the Sacrament of Holy Communion. But these Democratic politicians who identify as Catholic don’t understand that they’re supposed to conform to biblical truth regarding the sanctity of human life instead of the church conforming to their political preferences.
