Last week we pointed out that Congress recently approved $10 million in aid for gender programs in Pakistan. I need to make a correction, we understood “gender programs” to mean gender identity advocacy. However, the aid actually refers to bringing up the status of Pakistani women who are often treated as second-class citizens. CPC did not fully understand the intent when we released our commentary last week and we apologize. However, as laudable the effort may be, we need to ask if is gender equality programs are something that our tax dollars should be used for? Look, we’re nearly $30 trillion in debt, and are to add social advocacy in another nation to the bill is a tough pill to swallow for the taxpayers.
