The University of Louisville issued a statement regarding new LGBT policies in the Commonwealth. They say that they take “seriously any actions that aren’t aligned with their values” of “diversity and inclusion and respect for our fellow Cardinals.” As a result, U of L requested more funding for LGBTQ support services. They’re also providing more transgender sensitivity training for student leaders. They’ll also address changes to “housing procedures to ensure fairness to all students.” Implied in U of L’s statement is that if you don’t affirm a gender dysphoric person and their attempt to identify with the opposite biological sex, you must be against them. Of course, this is shallow and short-sighted. For our institutions of higher learning to cooperate with psychological disorders at the expense of reality is truly foolishness.
