Recently the Teaching American Principles Act went into effect, which effectually bans the teaching of Critical Race Theory in public schools across Kentucky. Many are wondering what CRT is. It’s the belief that our society is founded in racism that benefits white people, and oppresses minorities and produces racial disparities. CRT is bad because it fails to see individuals as individuals. If you’re white, you’re a racist oppressor. And if you’re a minority, you’re an oppressed victim. This ironically teaches people to judge others by the color of their skin, rather than the content of their character. This undermines the foundational principle that all men are created equal. Because according to CRT, we are not equal, and we never will be. Kudos to the Kentucky legislature for standing against CRT in our schools.
