An interesting phenomenon is sweeping the Commonwealth. It’s a move by local governments to pass resolutions affirming Second Amendment rights of citizens to keep and bear arms. The Trigg County Fiscal Court was one of the latest county governments to approve the measure by a unanimous vote. Approximately 30 other Kentucky counties are in the process of doing the same. This move apparently started in Virginia after Democrats took control of the state legislature. Local officials were concerned about restrictions on gun ownership initiated by Democrats, so they started passing resolutions. The movement has swept all the way into Kentucky, which by the way, was once part of Virginia. The threat of gun control and affirmation of gun rights could have implications for the November election.
