When does life begin? This was a question the New York Times tried to answer in a recent column. They analyzed a variety of proposals to this long-standing question from philosophers, theologians, and scientists. But the author failed to agree with the scientific consensus. This is because science has confirmed for decades that life begins at conception. As a result, pro-life public policies that protect unborn human life across the United States have been enacted. Now that Roe v Wade has been overturned, most abortions are now illegal in 14 states, including Kentucky. This is one of the many instances when science helps to support the truth of when life begins, affirmed in the Bible, which says, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.”
