Should biological men play on women’s sports teams? It’s obvious that men and women are physically different, and athletic competitions certainly show this. One Kentucky legislator is ensuring high school girls will not have to compete against stronger boys in sports and will not have to share a locker room with boys. State Rep. Ryan Dotson (R-Winchester) has prefiled a bill to require participation in athletic teams and activities to be based on biological sex. “Allowing transgender women to participate in women’s sports gives transgender women an unfair advantage,” said Dotson. Other states have passed similar legislation, and Kentucky should follow suit. This will not only protect girls from losing games and missing out on scholarships, but it will acknowledge the reality that biology determines our sex, and not one’s ever-changing feelings.
