Some policy issues are tough to talk about in public. Pornography is one of those issues. It's the 800 pound gorilla in the room. But headlines dealing with porn confront us on a daily basis. The latest news is from the Kentucky State House which is seeking to criminalize what is known as “revenge porn.” This is the online posting of sexually explicit images without consent. It was first common with teenagers. Now it's becoming an issue with adults who intend to shame and ridicule former partners. Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders says the law is needed because there are no penalties for such activity. Close to 40 states have similar legislation and with our state legislature's desire to protect others from shame and exploitation, this bill has a good chance of passing into law.
