Big government believes that it can solve problems better than individuals. It often sees business as something to provide more tax revenue and something to regulate. When government increases business taxes, then they usually pass off the increase to consumers. But according to President Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki, this is wrong. Psaki was asked about a Congressional proposal that would increase taxes on business. Her response: It’s “unfair and absurd” that companies would increase costs for consumers in response to us taxing them more.” Government doesn’t live by market forces. But the rest of us do. And when Big government, which is what we have in Congress now, raises taxes, it ends up hurting the little guy, no matter how much the Biden administration believes otherwise.
