Three powerful Northern Kentucky State House members lost their seats to more conservative challengers. State Rep. Adam Koenig (R-Erlanger) chaired the Licensing, Occupation, and Administrative Regulations Committee and was the leading proponent of gambling expansion in the Kentucky State House. State Rep. Ed Massey (R-Hebron) chaired the House Judiciary committee and lost by more than a 2-1 margin. Massey was also pro-gambling and anti-school choice.  State Rep. Sal Santoro chaired a Transportation subcommittee, and was considered moderate. One lesson here is that money and power don’t always win. In the case of these races conservative values and conservative votes prevailed.
