When it comes to the economy, things are looking much brighter in the Bluegrass State. Valvoline just cut the ribbon on a new $35 million dollar global headquarters in Lexington. Apple announced a $200 million investment in a Harrodsburg glass factory that makes the scratch resistant covers for their smart phones.  This good news comes on the heels of a recent announcement of a $1.3 billion expansion by Toyota of Georgetown and a new $1.3 billion aluminum plant in Eastern Kentucky. These major announcements didn't happen in a vacuum. In fact, the CEO of the aluminum plant pointed to the newly enacted Right to work law as a key reason for them choosing to locate to Kentucky. This is a reminder that we should pay attention to politics because it has a practical effect on our economy and our livelihood.
