A recent poll by the American Federation of Teachers found that Americans reject teaching CRT and LGBT identity in the classroom. By a 30 percent margin, Americans believe that teaching critical race theory should be kept out of public school classrooms. A wide majority of Americans also believe that teachers shouldn’t introduce LGBT identity to elementary school children. The poll was targeted to help knock off Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who’s up for election this year. DeSantis told a Moms for Liberty group, “They want to die on a hill of forcing sexuality and gender ideology in elementary school? You’ve got to be kidding me…. If you believe, and it’s your position, that these young kids should be sexualized in that manner, you’re wrong.” DeSantis said that anyone who wants this taught in the classroom should have to stand by those positions publicly. The ultimate poll will be held at the ballot box this November.
