Planned Parenthood is ramping up its political efforts. PP’s Action Fund announced that it is spending $5 million for what it calls its “accountability” campaign. This is an effort to make abortion a primary issue in states that have closed down abortion centers in the midst of the coronavirus. The abortion giant performed 345,672 abortions last year and PPs Vice President of State Policy and Advocacy Rachel Sussman said the campaign is a “starting point to help connect the dots for people” between public-health decrees and abortion “access.” The group is targeting 11 states (Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin) and most are considered battlegrounds for the November elections. The ad campaign is no doubt controversial especially since they received about $600 million in federal funding last year.
