Parents in Dearborn, Michigan showed up to a local school board meeting to air their concerns over books in their public school libraries that are sexually explicit, promote pornography, and the LGBT lifestyle. Christian parents were not the only ones who voiced their concern. The large Muslim population dominated the meeting to voice objections to the inappropriate nature of these materials for children. The meeting was cut short by the board chair after parents became unruly and called for the removal of school board members. This widespread outrage shows that concerns over moral boundaries and what is appropriate to children in public schools cross religious lines. Conservative Christians, Jews, and Muslims all follow similar sexual moral codes, and they simply wanted the school board to respect their values.
