According to a survey from the College Rover, 46% of college students believe that DEI classes should not be mandatory. And “1 in 10 students feel uncomfortable discussing race, gender, or sexual identity in class.” Many conservative students fear retribution for expressing their conservative views. After the 2023 attacks on Israel, a surge of antisemitism swept across many college campuses, and many Jewish students were threatened with violence. As a result, many university leaders see the handwriting on the wall and have either eliminated or renamed their DEI programs.
