Director, Commonwealth Policy Center

Today marks the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. His name is synonymous with civil rights in the United States.  It was his Christian conviction that all men possess dignity and are made in the image of God. It was his powerful voice that spoke the timeless truth that people "should be judged by the content of their character, not color of their skin."  It was his life that made a difference in the lives of generations after him. Tragically, it was a life cut short fighting for justice. Ours is a better society because of him. We need more Martin Luther King Jr.'s today.
