When it comes to speaking on controversial moral issues, I often hear objections that “no one has the right to judge.” But when someone says this essentially to end an argument, they are doing the very same thing they’re telling others not to do. They’re judging and trying to end the discussion. So here’s the question before all of us: how do you come to a conclusion about what is right and wrong? What is your plumb line by which you make a decision? For us at CPC, it is ultimately the God of the Universe who creates human life in his image and gives us rules in life to live by. Keep in mind, these rules are for our own good and for our own well-being. Embracing them is a safe and good place to be. And that’s a judgment that I’m sticking to.
