A recent study finds that America’s next big public health issue is loneliness. And surprisingly the group most affected is young people age 18-22. Medical professionals tell us that this is a major threat to our mental, emotional and physical well-being and can have huge consequences for public health. Young people are so impacted because they spend more time in virtual reality than they do in actual community. When young people are more connected to their technology than they are with others, they aren't forming relationships and the truth is that we are made to live in community and have real relationships with others. So kids, put down the smartphone, find a friend, have a conversation and begin to connect… with a real person. It's good for your health.
