The Kentucky legislature is in full swing. So far several hundred bills have been introduced.  A few high profile bills include legalizing sports gambling and medical marijuana, a constitutional amendment on abortion, mandatory voter ID at the polls, and  sanctuary city legislation. Two bills in particular have drawn criticism. One would ban any efforts to counsel minors to leave the LGBT lifestyle. Another bill would elevate homosexuality and transgender practice to civil rights status across KY. There has been a concerted push to force acceptance of LGBT practices across the Commonwealth. Part of this strategy is to label opponents as bigoted or homophobic. However, few seem to be asking whether pro-LGBT policies are necessary and good policies that lead to human happiness and flourishing.
