Congressman James Comer represents Kentucky’s First District in Congress, and he has been an outspoken critic against fiscal irresponsibility and government waste. I recently interviewed Comer, who said in a press release that “every committee hearing they’ve [Democrats] had, ends up being a committee hearing about some type of green project: the Green New Deal, green infrastructure, green jobs, anything except the green that it’s costing the American taxpayers.” Comer voted against Pres. Biden’s Build Back Better plan because less than 10 percent goes to actual surface projects like roads and bridges. It would also increase taxes by 20 to 30 percent of every American. Comer has a point. Congress has a responsibility to be good stewards of American tax dollars. Runaway spending ultimately leads to higher taxes and sometimes increased inflation, which hurts everyone.
