KY Attorney General Daniel Cameron joined a lawsuit against Gov. Andy Beshear over the governor’s ban of in-person faith-based meetings to slow the spread of coronavirus. Gov. Beshear said churches couldn’t open until May 20th, while manufacturers and horse racing were allowed to open yesterday (without fans). Tabernacle Baptist Church in Nicholasville is suing the state for violating their First Amendment freedoms and Attorney General Daniel Cameron agreed. He said “Even in times of crisis, the law must be followed, and it’s my job as Attorney General to defend it when it comes under attack. Our Constitution demands neutrality, and Governor Beshear’s executive orders target the practice of religion… by allowing secular activities while prohibiting faith-based gatherings.”
