Kentucky’s two abortion clinics shut down last week. They claim the passage of HB 3 as the reason for the shutdown. However, according to Attorney General Daniel Cameron, that’s not true. Cameron said, “The General Assembly passed HB 3 to protect life and promote the health and safety of women.” The law restricts abortion drugs through the mail and abortion for minors. It also requires hospital admitting privileges for abortionists and more record-keeping. None of this bans abortions. These are common sense regulations on an industry that has very little regard for women and less regard for the unborn life they’re carrying. According to Cameron, his office is “prepared to earnestly defend this new law against the legal challenge from Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.”
