Kentucky ranks 44th in teen pregnancy. Sexually transmitted disease (STD) are at an all-time high. And one in four women will have had an abortion by age 45. These statistics point to broken sexuality but a recently proposed bill helps high schoolers avoid the pitfalls of premarital sexual activity. It simply requires public schools with sex-ed curriculums to teach "Abstinence from sexual activity outside of marriage as the expected standard for all school-age children and the best way to avoid STD's and other associated health problems is to establish a mutually faithful monogamous relationship in the context of marriage." The so called "safe sex" message has failed, and because of it, our lawmakers are looking for a better standard for our kids. It's called marriage. It's not only good for individuals it’s good for a healthy society.
