A Virginia Beach judge ruled that two LGBT children’s books are inappropriate for children. Circuit Court Judge Pamela Baskerville said that the books titled “Gender Queer: A Memoir” and “A Court of Mist and Fury,” don’t belong in public school libraries. She found that it’s in the best interest of children to keep the sexual and pornographic content found in the books away from minors without parental permission. Many parents agree and hope the ruling extends to other school districts across the entire state of Virginia. There will undoubtedly be cries of censorship and book burning, but parents know that not everything is appropriate to be presented for consumption to minor children. And in this case, Judge Baskerville agrees.
