Conservative state legislatures across the country have been confronting aggressive LGBTQ activism, and the political left isn’t pleased. The Human Rights Campaign recently declared an LGBT State of Emergency in response to these laws, asserting that it’s dangerous to be an LGBTQ-identifying American. Chris Hartman, director of Kentucky’s Fairness Campaign, claimed that the conservative laws do violence to LGBTQ people, questions their existence, and even make it unsafe for them to travel to America. Of course, nobody should endorse violence against opponents, but conservative legislation hardly promotes this. Most of these laws address gender mutilation of minors and age-inappropriate curriculum in public schools—something everyone should appreciate.
