Today is the first day of LGBTQ pride month. The LGBT movement has been successful by pushing tolerance and acceptance. But the end game of LGBT Pride belies the rhetoric. According to the editors of National Review, “Pride Month…has increasingly become a tool of forced conformity for the purpose of isolating dissenters from LGBTQ+ ideology — especially religious believers — and either compelling their submission or punishing them for standing on their conscience.” Societal celebration of behaviors that were once widely regarded as undermining human health and flourishing doesn’t happen overnight. The movement has been decades in the making, but the final results of intolerance toward those who disagree is leading many not to “celebrate” but to put on the brakes.
