Planned Parenthood said in a recent press release that abortion is healthcare and a reproductive right. But is abortion really a reproductive right? Reproduction results in addition. But abortion results in the subtraction of another human being. Some call abortion health care but is really healthy to purposely end an otherwise healthy pregnancy? In fact, abortion opponents point out negative health effects abortion has on women. The debate over abortion has been fought on rhetorical grounds for decades. But as technology gives us a glimpse into the womb, many Americans are taking a second look at abortion and thinking more deeply about the issue. And they’re coming to the conclusion that whatever one might say about abortion, it isn’t really healthcare or a reproductive right.
