Director, Commonwealth Policy Center

The Commonwealth Policy Center covers stories from all across Kentucky. Sometimes people ask why they should care about something that happens in another part of the state?   The answer is simple. What happens in one part of Kentucky affects all of Kentucky. For example, think of a student that graduates from high school in eastern Kentucky. After graduation, the student enrolls at UK and when they graduate, they will take their values and experiences to wherever it is they might relocate. So we should care about the plight of Eastern Kentucky just as we should care about what is being taught at UK. We are not as independent as we think. We are influenced by family, friends, and neighbors every day.  And in many cases, that's a good thing as we work for a better commonwealth for all of us.
